Maths Tutoring
Maths has always been a subject that learners have problems with and is the most common subject in which learners drop from higher grade to standard grade (ie dropping to Maths Literacy). This is not necessarily a reflection of the Math teacher's ability, but rather of the learner's inability to grasp the subject.
There are several reasons why this can happen. Maths is one of the subjects that works along the principles of building blocks, one section of the syllabus being linked to another and that to another and so on. The inability to grasp a particular concept can lead to a snowball effect as time progresses. It is at times like this that maths tutoring becomes invaluable. Maths tutoring may also be useful where a learner is suffering from Dyscalculia, which may effect some 5% of the population. This is the inability to cope with time, measurement, and spatial reasoning.
Hire education employs many tutors who specialise in maths tutoring. We cover the whole of the maths syllabus and curriculum in both GET and FET. Our tutors have obtained the minimum of a B grade in maths at Matric before they begin tutoring with Hire Education. Each tutor is carefully chosen not only for his or her knowledge in the subject, but also for his or her ability to communicate the subject to the learners they are tutoring.
