Extra Maths Lessons
Maths is one of the most common subjects that learners have problems with, and is the most common subject in which learners drop from higher grade to standard grade (ie. dropping to Mathematical Literacy). There are more extra maths lessons than there are extra lessons in any other subject. The main reason for this is that Maths is one of the subjects that is based on building blocks. Basically this means that all present and future work is based upon previous work covered. When a learner does not fully grasp one past concept, all further work starts to deteriorate as the overall understanding of the subject relies on all past concepts being fully understood.
