Tutor Lessons
It is an unwelcome fact that because of the very high average student: teacher ratio in South Africa's schools (currently more than 40 to 1), the pressure of time on the academic curriculum does not always allow educators to give sufficient time to individual pupils during class. The inevitable result of this is that, somewhere along the line, extra tutor lessons have to be given to certain pupils. We at Hire Education do not see these tutor lessons as replacing the educator, but rather as a additional support in the learning process, both complementing and reinforcing work that has been covered at school as well as going back over any gaps the student may have in the foundation of subjects.
When extra Tutor lessons are given, they almost always take place in the more relaxed atmosphere of a one-on-one environment and the learner's home. Learners find that they can open up more in this dynamic and they are less shy to ask questions. As most of our tutors are university students themselves, their ages are closer to those of the learners, allowing for a mentoring relationship to form. It is extremely gratifying to see an attitude change occur in a learner when he or she grasps a particular concept in the tutor lessons that they have previously had trouble with in the classroom. If you think that your child is having any problems with one or more of their subjects at school, maybe we can help you.
