Tuition

If you notice that your child is not meeting expectations in his or her schoolwork, it's not the end of the world. You can always organise extra tuition, however it would be useful to establish the reason for this shortfall. There are all sorts of reasons why a learner could suddenly drop marks – one being that they could have failed to understand a new section of the subject in question. For example, in some applied subjects such as Math and Science one section often depends on a previous section's concepts and so on, and the failure to comprehend one section can lead to a domino like effect. Problems at home can affect a child much more than one imagines, changing schools can be quite devastating, as can a clash of personalities with a particular teacher. Some younger pupils often turn to their parents or older siblings for help with homework, but find that they do not respond well to tuition from them as it is "too close to home". This is often because the parents don't understand the new curriculum, or did things differently when they were back at school.

Private tuition can and does help in most cases, and that's why Hire Education was founded. At the time of writing we have over 150 tutors on our books, and the number is growing. A private tutor will spend the first few lessons assessing the pupil's ability and aptitude with a particular subject, by going through past and current work, thus enabling him or her to plan the best approach for private tuition. We believe that it is most important that you, the parent, receives comprehensive and regular feedback on how your child is progressing, and to this end we will keep in regular communication.
