Private Tuition

There is absolutely no doubt that private tuition is becoming almost essential in the education of our youth. In a country where the average class size is greater than 35 learners it is impossible for a teacher, no matter how highly qualified, to give each individual learner the attention that they warrant. Many learners, especially those gifted learners who have a natural ability to soak up information, can cope with a situation such as that. However there are a good number who cannot and these are the learners who can benefit from private tuition. Individual instruction is arranged in such a way that it compliments what is taught in the classroom as well as filling in gaps from the past and preparing the learners for future exams. Not only does private tuition help those who are failing but also those learners who have a "C" symbol and want to achieve their full potential and achieve distinctions.

There are a number of reasons why a learner may need extra individual lessons. A sudden drop in marks could be because a learner has not understood a particular section of the syllabus – in a subject like Mathematics where one section depends upon the comprehension of a previous section this could result in ongoing problems and even further need for private tuition. The problem could arise because of a personality clash between learner and teacher, or even because of problems in the learner's home. There are, of course, learners who have learning disabilities such as ADD or ADHD. In cases such as this the character of the private tuition we offer has been found to be invaluable to this kind of learner as the tutors form a mentoring relationship with the learners by motivating them and building their confidence levels.
